Database Administrator - Information Technology

Main role

  • Install and configure new databases servers from scratch.
  • Monitor and report on system performance.
  • Prepare and present status and technical reports as required.
  • Troubleshooting database server service outages as they occur, including after-hours/weekend support.
  • Identify faults, raise trouble tickets and provides resolution of complex problem requests.
  • Develop & maintain capacity and performance metrics to track overall infrastructure trends.
  • Collaborate with IT teams and management to devise a data strategy that addresses business requirements
  • Ensure stable and reliable Operation for internal databases operations.
  • Develop and test storage strategies and disaster-recovery plan for the operational database, delivering a solution that guaranteed recovery performance and high availability.
  • Support and administer production and non-production Oracle and MS SQL Server.
  • Perform Oracle DB & MS SQL Server installation, configuration and upgrading.
  • Implement and maintain proactive database monitoring, identify, triage, and resolve performance issues, space issues, database locking using diagnostic tools such as AWR, ADDM, SQL Profiler etc.
  • Design, implementation, configuration, and administration of Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server,
  • Analyze, optimize and tune advanced complex SQL queries and their associated execution plans using tools,
  • Define, implement and support Backup and Recovery policies using RMAN and/or storage level
  • Cluster and replication technologies
  • Perform database restore and recovery in the event of an outage.

Job requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or related field
  • From 3 to 5 years’ experience in related fields
  • Hands-on experience on T24 core banking DB experience is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of installation, upgrade, management, and maintenance of Grid infrastructure, ASM, RAC, Data guard (12c, 19c)
  • Deep knowledge of Oracle database internals (wait events, background processes, memory architectures etc.)
  • Experience with Shell scripting
  • Experience with database performance tuning on all layers
  • Deep understanding of T-SQL and PL/SQL development and tuning
  • Deep knowledge of Oracle utilities such as backup, recovery, partitioning, Cluster ware, etc.
  • Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server.
  • Knowledge of IBM AIX, Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Excellent teamwork, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong technical documentation and verbal/written communication skills
  • PostgreSQl , MySql and MongoDB knowledge is a plus.
